Sanjiv began his career in the motor industry as a trainee technician, after having completed his National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Through his quest to learn more, he progressed through the various departments in Volkswagen, having spent time in service related departments and eventually ending up in marketing, looking after the dealer network in the East Cape. Over the years the yearning to learn more has continued through studying various business related courses.
Having a passion for business, he joined the family business and cultured his entrepreneurial spirit. As part of his developmental path, he used his business and technical acumen and experience in the consulting arena and has had much success in area of cost reduction and restructuring. With the wide networking experiences gained over the years, Sanjiv has developed his consulting skills to assist small business in formulating strategies and providing mentoring services via quasi state institutions. As a result of the transfer of skills, many small businesses have improved the way in which they operate and have adopted standard business operating principles. Sanjiv shares a passion for teaching, having lectured such diverse subjects Marketing and Operations Management at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
Sanjiv is a co-founder and the Leader, Eastern Cape Business Unit of the Simunye Institute for Visionary Leadership (www.simunyeinstitute.org). The Institute is vested in a networking model of practitioners, shareholders and strategic partners in South Africa, Africa and internationally. Simunye delivers to its mission through creative research, social upliftment and facilitating high value-add leadership education based in African/Western fusion, eco-wisdom and spiritual/emotional intelligence.
